“The life you have led doesn’t need to be the only life you have.” – Anna Quindlen

Jason Platt, PhD is from the United States and provides bilingual therapy services in Mexico City near the Angel of Independence and the U.S. Embassy. Dr Platt has more than twenty years experience working with individuals, couples, and families negotiate issues such as grief, trauma, abuse, loss, anxiety, infidelity, sexual difficulties, couple conflict, depression, and the unique challenges faced by bi-national couples and those in the expat community. Dr. Platt offers both in person and virtual sessions.
Therapy sessions are generally scheduled once per week, although during times of crisis we may adjust our schedule. I am currently accepting new clients and look forward to speaking with you.
I have a Ph. D. in Marital and Family Therapy from Syracuse University. I am an active member (Member #74790) of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and I abide their ethical codes. I was the Program Director of a Masters degree in International Counseling Psychology program at Alliant International University’s Mexico City campus for twelve years in Mexico City. My approach to therapy is based on framework called systems theory. This is a philosophy of therapy that looks at how problems may be connected and/or maintained by the set of relationships in which a person exists. I also draw on ideas from Liberation Psychology which considers how societal and community contexts may have an influence on mental health. I use a variety of techniques in therapy aimed at trying to find what will work best for you.
FEES:
Standard sessions: $120 USD (50-minutes). *
